You must Install it the exact way I have listed in the (Read me) text file that is in the main folder with the other two game install folders. If you do not follow them exactly then the multiplayer will not work and you will not have 1080p as an option. The multiplayer works since it has the new update file that must be installed plus I have personally tested both Single Player & Multiplayer and they are a blast from the past! If you want more maps then go to the Custom Edition website that I have placed a link to in a text file located in the Custom Edition install folder. Any more questions or problems then comment or PM me and I will do my best to answer them.

EDIT #1: So apparently the Custom Edition website has additional standalone updates from the main website besides the one I have uploaded (You still need to install those to have Multiplayer & 1080p functionality). I don't know which version of the game I have uploaded or if the ones from the website works with this version. I will check later and see if the updates work and what version I have uploaded. So until then here's the website with the updates, the site also contains extra fan made maps and I definitely recommend trying them out.

Edit #2: So I just downloaded the three updates from the Custom Edition and installed them and it seemed to work I guess since I don't have any problems with the game. I will link the updates below from the website and you will install them the way I have them posted. Take note you will still need the updates from my megalink post, those were provided by Microsoft to enable the new sever after GameSpy shut down in 2014 and also a new 1080p setting. The ones listed in order below are from the Custom Edition website and add minor fixes but are considered mandatory by the site and they take around 5 seconds to install.

Custom Edition <3
I did a lot of work with it way back in the day - there are so many hidden gems with maps in there.
Can you tell me something, if I was to download a map and place it in the map folder like it says to do on the site, will there be more servers that show up using that map with people in them?

Yeah. There's an option on the server screen to filter out maps you don't have too.
There are also some new mods people have done to the game that allows automatic map download. I'm not too familiar with it, but check it out.

halo 2 shark launcher worked last time I tried it. Also, you can theres a list of games that the serials work for h2. I dont remember where I for it, but I ended up using gtv4.

do i have to install both, the halo combat evolved and custom edition?
It depends on what you want. Combat Evolved is the main single player campaign and while it does have working online multiplayer servers, Custom Edition is more popular and has a lot more servers (around three times as many) and can play custom made maps, skins, vehicles, weapons, etc. Custom Edition does not have the single player campaign though. Honestly I would just install them both since it doesn't take that much time to install each game and both games doesn't take much space on your HDD/SSD, around 1-1.5 GBs when you add them up. I personally have had more fun online with the Custom Edition and the single player campaign for Combat Evolved is really good. Hope this helps.
Yeah I ended up installing the custom edition. I have a problem though. When I play a game the game skips a bit and then moves forward suddenly. It keeps on doing this, do you know why? It can't be the framerate as it is smooth.
