Full rom sets meaning every game released for the system?

Yea, thats what is implied.

Also found this thread when checking.

This brought me back to roms and I had to learn a few things. The N64 set was too big, so I had to DL some singles where I could find them. Some came with a large amount of roms in a single pack with tons of suffixes describing the releases. I used the below link to identify the individual roms included.

https://64bitorless.wordpress.com/rom-suffix-explanations/

"If you don’t want to read the following, and assuming you want to play ROMs in English, the following suffixes are what you want:

For English ROMs (U) or (E) or (UE) or (U)(E)

For the best quality ROMs [!]

What to avoid like the plague [b] And now for the longer, fully detailed guide:

Standard Codes ( ‡ explanations further down)

[a] Alternate [p] Pirate [b] Bad Dump (avoid these, they may not work!) [t] Trained [f] Fixed [T-] OldTranslation [T+] NewerTranslation [h] Hack (-) Unknown Year [o] Overdump [!] Verified Good Dump (M#) Multilanguage (# of Languages) (###) Checksum (??k) ROM Size ZZZ_ Unclassified (Unl) Unlicensed Special Codes ( ‡† explanations further down)

Game Boy [C] Color [S] Super [BF] Bung Fix

Super Nintendo (BS) BS ROMs (ST) Sufami Turbo (NP) Nintendo Power

Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (1) Japan (4) USA (5) NTSC Only (8) PAL Only [ (B) Brazil ] [ [c] Checksum ] [ [x] Bad Checksum] [ [R-] Countries ]

NES/Famicom [PC10] Playchoice 10 version [VS] Vs Version Country Codes

If you need an emu, head to zophar.net

I thought that site was terribly outdated. Is it?

[-] Blue-Thunder | 2 points | Jul 21 2017 04:03:17

It is, but it will at least give you an idea of what's available and you can go from there. Or you can just grab BizHawk or something like it :P I dunno just trying to give some direction to some people hah.

Is it possible for anyone to split the N64 set into 3 parts of 5gb (or less) each? I am unable to download as it is :(

Best emulators, GO!

permalink

[-] 203801092016 | 9 points | Jul 21 2017 11:15:02

Seperate emulators for new users

NES - Nestopia SNES - Snes9x GB/GBC - gambatte GBA - VisualBoyAdvance N64 - Project64 Mastersystem/Megadrive/32x/SegaCD - Kega Fusion Playstation - Epsxe or pSXfin (No setup, less compatability but really easy to use)

For "Advanced" users and I say Advanced because it can be a headache setting it up if you have no experience with emulators - Retroarch

Launchbox is also super awesome, and can utilize Retroarch plus everything else. https://www.launchbox-app.com/

mGBA is better than VBA these days. Mednafen through RetroArch (Beetle) is the best PlayStation emu by far.

Any love for PS1/PS2 roms?

permalink

[-] Boshi_Destiny | 5 points | Jul 29 2017 00:49:07

PS1 and PS2 games are disc based. A complete collection of just American PS1 games would be a 540 gig download. A complete collection of American PS2 games would be nearly 2 terabytes.

As long as it's in parts like 5gb per file then I don't see the problem unless its internet and data cap related.

Will this run on a RetroPi setup? I'm building one currently for the gf and I'm looking for the games themselves to load onto the system. This is my first time doing something like this so I've been cluelessly looking around.

late to the party, but not seeing how to download these packs. is the link gone?

no idea how to use Base64, if that's how it is supposed to work

I don't wanna sound like a dick but if only there's a search engine that you can ask "what is base64" or an encyclopedia that you can look up what base64 is.

clue: wkipedia, chapter 3.

Ive got a full saturn set (Eng/Euro/Jap set) ---- 532GBs --- but its so large that uploading is difficult... its not really conducive to mega uploading... better for torrents really...

This would be cool to get for real for real torrent or otherwise, namely the english games at first :p Let me know :)
