Same, I couldn't care less if a woman got a lead in a film (It's been done before. Not partial to male or female as long as the movie is good), but I thought Gadot was a miscast. Wonder Woman needs to be thicccc af. Not having any junk in the trunk isnt convincing when kickin ass. Was still a great superhero movie regardless

I still think it's a miscast. The comic book Wonder Woman was more muscular and had blue eyes. Is it the end of the world because she doesn't match the comic book iteration head to toe? No, of course not. The movie was still good regardless.

I didn't say just superhero movies, but tv shows and movies with female leads include: Agents of Shield (Quake is the most prominent superhero on the team), Elektra, Catwoman, Jessica Jones, Supergirl, Super (movie with Ellen Page), and Avengers (more of an ensemble, but Romanoff got a lot of screen time, more than Thor, Hulk, Fury, Loki, and Hawkeye). Do you think that these are disingenuous because some didn't make as much money as WW or some didn't put women on a pedestal?

Hell, even in Avengers, Romanoff - the only female human w/o superpowers on the team - always had the upper hand. Even against two sets of armies, she never seem to get bested, not even by Loki. Out of all the shows and movies I listed, these women were treated just like male superheroes - they had their hubris and moments of weakness, but kicked some ass at the end of the day.

Keyword here being "issue". It's not an "issue", so insinuating I don't care about it is a straw man. I meant that I don't care who has the lead in the movie as long as it's a good movie. I'm not partial to male or female either way. WW was better than some of the marvel, male lead movies anyway, in my opinion.

If your argument is that since there are more male leads in superhero movies, and that this means Hollywood is misogynist... then your claim is fallacious. You need to learn how correlation does not automatically imply causation.
