I tried everywhere to look for subtitles and a better quality version, but to no avail – all the subtitles I found were off (even after I tried to experiment with muxing an .srt) and the video quality is what I could put together from a straight up DVD rip (I worked with the .VOB files).

This is an extremely cool movie. Something like a splatter-comedy with puppets.

I did check with my version I already had, mine has a slightly lower resolution and is darker. So yes, this is probably the best quality version around :-(.

Thanks for feedback. The quality does give it this "lost tape" VHS bootleg aesthetic, which I appreciate, but let's hope for a Blu-ray release in the near future.
