are these remastered ones different from the audible uk releases? Good work thou for years only the american ones were around. I had the english ones on cassette for many years and some cd's but the quality was rubbish so i actually brought the audible ones

I can't speak to any differences in the source recording, although my understanding is that the remastered audio was produced specifically for Pottermore, which is what I have here. They may have licensed it out to Audible UK but I doubt this (as they are direct competitors). However, the 96 kbps bit rate here is certainly higher quality than any Audible release I have encountered. Audible typically releases in 64 kbps stereo and with a reduced sample rate of 22.05 kHz, which to my ears sounds greatly inferior. The higher frequencies are totally intact in the Pottermore edition (sampled at 44.1 kHz), and I haven't come across any nasty audio artifacts in it. Feel free to download and compare the releases and let us all know what you think! I'm certain you'll find them satisfactory at a minimum :)

Please do! My goal is to rid the web of those dreadful UK versions that have been floating around for years - in fact, the previous one I had was only 24 kbps sampled at 16 kHz and it sounded ghastly! ;)
Unfortunately Chapter 24 mp3 in the Goblet of Fire seems to have some encoding issue, with skipping during parts of the chapter.
Have re-downloaded the specific file, and tested it on both my phone and laptop and the fault happens on both.
Unsure if this affects any earlier or later books, as had recently listened to the first three before this download. And unsure if any other later chapters are affected.

Thanks for pointing this out. I have listened to the chapter and I can confirm that there is indeed skipping. I'm not sure if this issue is present across all of Pottermore or if there's a problem with my particular file, but you're not alone. I will try to get to my sources and see if the defect can be replaced. I will update the post and reply here if I discover a solution. Sorry for your inconvenience; hopefully the rest of the chapters are totally intact. I have heard the entire first book up through chapter 12 of book two with no issues so far. Please do keep us updated if you run into the problem again later on :)
No problem dude :), thankfully seems to of only effected that chapter, as am up to chapter 32 now, with no re-occurrence so far, if I notice any others I'll come back and mention them.
Still incredibly thankful for these versions, much nicer to listen to than the multiple overly compressed ones that get shared around
It's present on chapters 13, 14, and 15 of Chamber of Secrets as well. 15:59 in chapter 14 is a specific example, but it's one of the least offensive ones we heard yesterday. There's some where a quarter second or so repeats for a second or two.

Thank you for letting me know. I've pulled the files until I can get in contact with my source for the replacement. Until then, folks are probably better off using the links provided by /u/Phillipc96 which seen to be fine. Sorry guys :*(

Phillipc96 Seems to have deleted his account, is there any chance you could pm me your upload? I won't mind some skipping, I'm sure I'll still be able to enjoy them :)
Thanks, I love his readings. Much better than Jim Dales pronunciations of everything.

You're welcome! Feel free to share far and wide... About time we had some higher quality Stephen Fry files spread around the community! :)

Any link to these?

So no update after the removal?

Just in case: this is not a dupe of the links from Phillipc96; his are only 32kbps MP3s so the ones posted here are much higher quality. The audio here has also been remastered for a re-release on Pottermore, which is where they are sourced from. These recordings are much nicer to listen to, although they do take up 3x the space... Hope you all enjoy as much as I have and by all means, reupload and continue to share as much as possible. Good quality versions of HP by Stephen Fry are very hard to come by!
To those who have DM'd me: I do not have the Pottermore remasters of the Jim Dale version, apologies. Perhaps someone can find them and post here soon :)

Hello, I am interested in getting them but it may take some time to track them down. If I can find them I will post them in the sub, but I can't guarantee this as it's a very expensive purchase to make and there are already some decent quality Jim Dale files available from non-Pottermore sources. I'll do my best to acquire them and share if I can, but don't get your hopes too high in the meantime :)
