4K (3840x2160) is 4x the resolution of 1080p. A 1080p untouched rip of La La Land is 46 GB. With the advancements made in lossy compression tech with the UHD spec like HEVC, we can achieve 4x resolution at about double the file size of 1080p. That's pretty great. If this was encoded in regular Blu-Ray format, it would be almost 200GB.

I would say the easiest and quickest way is to drag the file into mkvmerge. Then untick every bubble/box (for example subtitles, chapters, videos, extra audio) except the atmos audio bubble, click "start muxing" , and wait about 3-5min to complete. File should be an mka file around 1-10gb.

Edit: I should clarify that it is not confirmed if AACS2.0 was cracked or exploit was found that let people read the memory of the BluRay player. By saying "Yes" I meant that this is an untouched/lossless copy of the disk.

Is there any info out there on how they are able to do so?
so far two groups have released untouched uhd movies, but they did not reveal how they did it. The releases are legit but we don't know if they cracked the encryption, found a way to bypass it, or attained non-encrypted copies.

I gave up. Much as I would love this film in 4k, it's 5+ hours for each part on my internet connection. And something went wrong with Pt 1 an hour into download, mega seemed to freeze and wouldn't restart the download.
Besides, I don't have a 4k tv.

I just paid the $5 with google wallet from the MEGA android app. Those workarounds look like it takes way too much energy than it's worth to me. would rather just pay a little pocket change every month, enter my login credentials on jdownloader, and call it a day.

I discovered this thanks to that thread I made a few days ago. I didn't really have a problem paying for premium membership, I just had a problem finding an easy way to pay for it without giving MEGA my card number or dealing with bitcoins.
The other nice thing about google wallet is that you can also easily cancel your MEGA subscription by opening the google play app and going to Account --> Subscriptions.
