Hello, may I point you out that the key links are dead (For the 6 seasons) Have a good day.
[-] Whitewalkers69 | 2 points
Holding off on uploading Season 5 and 6 due to people finding out about me posting on my old seasons posts and reporting them. Season 4 got taken down in 1 day, Seasons 1 - 3 got taken down in 2 days. I guess it took them a few days to find out I was posting new links on old posts or someone who messaged me asking for links that I responded to reported them. That is all for now..
I'm having trouble downloading episode 3, "The High Sparrow". Using MegaDownloader and it says downloading in a few seconds then becomes ERROR. Is anyone experiencing this?
[-] Someonethatisnthim | 2 points
meagdownloader and megatools are no longer able to bypass exceeded bandwidth limit.
So that's why you were getting ERROR. Only way to download the files now is to use vpn.
Is this true? My download proceeded and I also started downloading the season 6 right now.
[-] Someonethatisnthim | 1 points
Unfortunately, yes. It is true. Mega has fixed the bypass so we no longer can dl 5gb+ files/collections without switching the IP every 4.9gb or so...
[-] Someonethatisnthim | 1 points
there appears to be some sort of an issue with megadownloader. fix should be up soon. edit: megatools aren't working as well
Thanks a lot for the five seasons, that was awesome!
Just a question, if you're aiming for quality why use bitrate=1700 instead of the recommended crf (17-22 depending on the quality you're aiming for)?
Basically doing one episode at crf 19, 20 or 21 and choosing to stick with one depending on the size you're looking for (if you're aiming for a compromise between file size and quality) ensures all the other episodes will be roughly the same size (it's an average, so might be better to test over 2 or 3 episodes).
That way you all your bitrate goes into quality (nothing wasted like happens with -bitrate) and the time you save not doing 2 passes can be spent on higher encoding options.

well, when you are going for file size with audio and video with grain for extra sharpness/clarity. I had to sacrifice some bitrate. That being said, I think it looked alot better than most I have seen floating around the interwebs, with a very few exceptions. That does not mean someone cant do it, it just means there isnt many publicly out there atm. Thanks for the compliment. I was only doing this for a show I really like and for people that don't or can't torrent. I do not do this for a living. As far as the crf settings, it depends on the source, and shit seems to fluctuate no matter what u do to some extent as far as the resulting file size when trying to maintain that sharpness/clarity throughout. Hey I am no expert in video editing though.
Thanks for the reply! Your quality is good, unlike many poorly encoded in HEVC TV shows (movies are different).
The desired file size I understand perfectly, but since you're not doing a quick&dirty encode (using Nvidia or Intel hw encoders) I was wondering why not use a CRF - saves encoding time (1 pass only) and gives better quality for the same file size, whether you need a crf 19 or 23.
You end up with a slightly higher variation in file size among episodes (nothing much), but on a whole season the size averages themselves, and unlike -bitrate with -crf the x265 encoder can allocate more bitrate where it will make a difference, and less in scenes where it would be wasted.
[-] Whitewalkers69 | 1 points
You are correct. I was aiming for 900mb - 1gb is the reason, but doing what you are suggesting, yes while it would give me same quality overall, it would not give me that extra (small in the grand scheme of things) clarity/sharpness/grain during scenes that have less motion going on, without suffering that larger file size. I mean we are only talking a few hundred mb per episode on average, but my goal was just to try to stay at that size range while keeping that clarity during scenes with less motion. As you know, scenes with motion x265 When using CBR CRF handles compression very well on its on with a set it and forget it. I could have done that yes. I am no advanced encoder though, I am learning. For people who have questions like me and others about encoding..There is a good basic overview on encoding listed Here

It's either could
See Grammar Errors for more information.
Thanks for the explanation, it's the first time I've heard the idea of using -bitrate as a way to increase detail on low motion scenes to the detriment of quality in action scenes.
There might be a way to tweak x265 option to achieve the same result while preserving the quality gains of using -crf, but I'm no expert encoder either so I wouldn't know which option could be massaged to do that ;)
When I want sharp detail on x265 I use --tune grain but there's a big size hit, so then I max most options and end up waiting a few days for an encode... :( Advanced encoders might denoise then add grain afterwards, but I've never been able to learn how to do that (never found a tutorial about it).
[-] Whitewalkers69 | 1 points
Yeah, I have read about people using denoise, but that is beyond my knowledge atm.
