I have a few TV shows in 1080p x265 and was wondering whether there would be people interested in any of them? The ones I have are:
I'm not entirely sure what the general consensus is towards 1080p BluRay

If you didn't know already, he posted it, but megadownloader and jDownloader are patched anyway.
[-] 1080pIsWhatINeed | 2 points
Can you get Breakout Kings - S01 & S02 1080p, please?
I love x265 encodes and download them whenever available. I wish it was catching on more, but it seems like a lot of the things I download aren't offered in that format.
[-] AmazingAnagram | 3 points
check http://www.yourserie.com
I hate to seem whiney and ungrateful, but that site was a bit difficult to use. Once I had found an episode I wanted to download I had to click through six different "You're almost there" ad sites that opened porn pop ups even though I have pop ups disabled, have popup blocker installed, have java disabled and have adblock installed. So six ad site windows and I actually did get a mega download link. Not sure how often I'll use that site but thanks anyway.
[-] C_McButterpants | 1 points
Try this and whine no more.

I find the same issue with that site, seems to be riddled with popups and isn't the easiest one to use. It's there if I really need an episode but for general collections, it's not worth the hassle.
[-] AmazingAnagram | 1 points
Yup all the link shortneres and popups can get really annoying, but i can bear it most of the time lol.
Are the first few seasons of friends in good quality too? I'd like to replace my shitty ones with them.
Thanks for Downton Abby, didnt have that one yet!
Friends would make a nice addition.
[-] AmazingAnagram | 1 points
I would like Mr Robot aswell, as my versions are low qual and are 10.6 gb in total
Yes please. I need Breaking Bad. My university semester is about to end and I plan to binge watch it. Would you be able to please pm me the link once it gets posted?
[-] Someonethatisnthim | 1 points
Again, thanks for all of this :) I forgot to ask previously, you don't happen to have How I met your mother in 1080p x265(or 264)? Ones I have are pretty bad quality and would love to upgrade.

how big is friends?
go to www.pahe.in for getting all these above tv shows as the uploader takes the source in 1080p which is 40-50 gb for a single tv show and upload it in 4-5 gb and the quality is amazing as it also x264
[-] PraiseDannyWoodhead | 5 points
We're talking nowhere near the same quality here.

[-] PraiseDannyWoodhead | 5 points
Well, that's not necessarily true at all. x265 is just as capable of quality as x264, generally speaking. The problem is that a ton of encoders try to use the same constant quality metric for x264 when encoding x265, resulting in tiny file sizes and fairly major losses in quality. There are beautiful 1080p and 4k HEVC encodes out there, they just aren't also 650mb. Bitrate matters the most for quality, and re-encoders like Pahe.in, YSteam, DeeJayAhmed, etc. discard bitrate in favor of file sizes, resulting in releases that are mediocre at best.
[-] Nope_______ | 1 points
At what point is it likely that a x265 will be worse quality than x264? If it's less than half the bitrate? I'm sure it varies, but is there some general rule of thumb to figure out if a x265 will be better than a x264?
[-] PraiseDannyWoodhead | 1 points
It's really hard to generalize because of all the caveats, but for general television and movies anytime the filesize and bitrate are less than half or a even a third of the source, it probably is going to suffer from severe blocking and banding when compared to the x264 source in addition to major loss of sharpness. Half is sometimes acceptable if the encoder set their preset to low and did multiple passes and didn't severely destroy the audio track bitrate. Animation can be compressed much more before quality loss is as noticeable.
If I had to throw out numbers: A 45min episode of TV should be around 1GB and a 2hr movie could range from 2.5 to 4GB.
[-] Nope_______ | 1 points
Yeah there are some movies in my collection that I have a x264 and x265 version. I can't decide which to keep and which to throw out, since I don't care too much about size. If they were both 4GB, I would throw out the x265. But if the x264 is 8GB and the x265 is 4GB, it's hard to decide. I guess I should just watch to see which looks better, but that's a lot more work than deciding just on the filesize....
