Heyo! This is kinda a 'Is there an interest/Want for this' type post. I thought about asking but decided to at least do one before I did. So, here ya go, a 1080p upscale of Dragon Ball the original series Episode 1.

There were a couple of audio and video issues with ffmpeg when encoding this, I'm not gonna tell you what they are, but if you can spot them I guess that means I didn't fully fix them.

If you do end up watching this and don't just add stuff to your collection compulsively like I do, tell me if there's anything that you'd like corrected with regards to sharpness, color correction or anything else like that. I also don't have sub tracks or the desire to add them on, but if someone wants to help me with that and this little project goes forward then that'd be rad.

I had the ISOs and VOBs but my hard drive got fucked. However, I have the links to the torrents I used (I can't remember which was the exact one so I'm linking all of them. You can use VOBs too instead of ISOs (at least that's what I've read)

Can I ask how long it took you to upscale this? I absolutely think you should continue, but if it's a lot of work I'd like to warn you to keep your skin thick and take whatever time you need to keep going without overworking yourself. People can get demanding and rude, but that's just the price you pay when you're supplying people with dope shit like this

Omg this is perfect. I love dragon ball franchise but never finished the og series (know the story though). Someone did the same thing with avatar the last airbender and it was amazing. I would love to see more of this, if so how long can one expect to be waiting for the full series?

Well, to do a full episode it takes about 30 mins to RIP, 10 hours to upscale, and 5 hours to re-encode. I'm doing this on my personal pc right now, so itll be done while I sleep/am at work. So I'll probably release an ep every couple days ish if I'm doing it alone

Not sure how it takes so much , for me it takes 1 hour . for all the processes . But i also use different methods , and none of them will included grain removal only proper upscale and color correction .

I have about 20~ episodes done but they're from the source material. Which means a slightly different color palette. Someone told me they liked the old one better, so I'm looking into for correction.
