Thanks a ton! Quick question: how'd they get it to 60fps? I've also noticed a bit of stuttering in the framerate in VLC, is this just due to my processor?

tbh i don't know. I just found the source way back when. I just re-encoded them to x265 save on file size.
Thanks! There seems to be a frame difference between the source and the encode, although I'm not sure if that would cause an issue.
When you have a chance, would you mind playing it on your pc to see if it stutters as well? Might just be something on my end but I'm not sure.

its called frame interpolation.
its a render algorithm that looks at 2 frames and calculates a extra frame from it, causing these wierd looking artefacts near quick moving objects https://gyazo.com/7cd86b4413e6eb6312f0f2a349684d14

sure you can create your own!
i know that there are tools for after effects and adobe premiere and a lot of open source programs that let you create 60 fps videos. butterflow for example: https://github.com/dthpham/butterflow
there is also a program called SmoothVideo (SVP) that lets you view videos with realtime frame interpolation in up to 144 fps, if you have good enought pc specs. https://www.svp-team.com

I'm experiencing stuttering in kmp. Vlc plays it fully lagged, same with mpc as well. Any solutions?
