[META] Adivce on how to download one folder from a much larger folder set. | Megalinks MegaDB [META] Adivce on how to download one folder from a much larger folder set.

So I'm trying to download the HOUSE MD files from the massive Mixed Media folder someone linked to me in the request thread but I'm having an issue.

I usually use Megadownloader for my files, but that will download everything which is TB worth of stuff, (plus I'm getting some 0 line error when I put the whole thing in there.)

Just the folder i want is around 64 gigs. I can't import without hitting my cap and can't download without getting storage restricted through Mega.

Is there a way to set Megadownloader to just download the one folder? Is there a link creator or something I can set to the folder? Should I contact the uploader and ask if they could put the folder in a seperate mega account for me as a favor? Any advice on how to get this done would be appreciated.

EDIT: Thanks for the responses. Trying a couple things. Will update with what works.

EDIT2: WHAT WORKED

So I went the JDowloader2 route and that got everything in in a decent amount of time. No throttle and no restriction.

The problem I was running into with megadownloader was that in this massive drop, the actual folder selection (which yields a specific mega link for you to plug in) was giving me the 0 line error, which is explained in a comment below by /u/darkestro. Basically, if the link contains certain characters, MD won't recognize it. No such problem with Jdowloader.

Hope that helps anyone else in the future having a similar issue! Thanks again for the help from everyone.

I just import the link into Megadownloader, wait for it to cache the names, then i press stop and delete all the files I don't want (mark all, unmark my files, delete). Not the most beautiful way, but it works for me and takes 10 seconds.

I had considered trying that but every time I put the mega link into the downloaded line I get some weird "0 line received" error message. When I try it again in a little bit I'll post exactly what the error I'm getting is.

I'm using jDownloader 2 and it works quite well with mega. Just select the folders you want from the webcrawler list, and press download.

There is also no bandwidth restriction, so it is like megadownloader.

Have you tried to just import the 64 gigs? I have a few 50 gig accounts with wayyy over 50 gigs in them. It's some kind of "import glitch"

Yeah, tried that. About 12 files and 3 hours in it told me I have hit my "free import limit" for the day and needed to upgrade my account to continue.

Yeah then I don't know of a good way of taking only part of that massive upload. And I've tried downloading them in the past, only to get that "0 line" error, as well. I think it has to do with the way the folders are named? What about just importing one season at a time, creating folder links and feeding those links to megadownloader?

Make a new mega account and import the entire MD folder into your account. This helps your get over the 50gb free limit. Then right click on the folder/file you want and get the direct download link. Paste into Megadownloader or jDownloader. Or just paste the entire thing into jDownloader and just select which ones your want to download.
