I have a couple of megalinks to an ongoing release. Is there any software to achieve a constant or intermittent watch for new content?

MegaTools might as they have a megaLS to list directory contents. You'd have to do a comparison your self of prior outputs and schedule the pulls. I've not used MegaTools. See link on sidebar.
