If 0 just uses the JP version with a patch for the official localization, why not just give us the official ENG version?
[-] kaching335 | 2 points
Its not on PC in English. The scripts are extracted from the Vita version

Plus it makes some improvements, check the readme

gotcha thx
Steins;Gate has recieved two different official releases. One was through the JAST USA store, and one through Steam.
Which one is this based on?
(I already own a copy of the JAST USA release, so I don't really care all that much. Just wondering.)

It's a repack by codex, probably from steam as its a recent repack from what I can tell
That's a bit odd, as I heard that there were a lot of people complaining about how the steam version was the inferior version.
[-] kaching335 | 1 points
I honestly don't know the difference
Codex does most new releases anyways
Edit: Actually isn't the JAST USA release drm free anyway? That would definitely mean this is the steam version
I have the JAST USA release installed right now. I can confirm that it is DRM free.
The old fan-translated version was DRM free as well.

So yeah this is definitely steam then. I looked up some stuff on the differences and it looks like there's an unofficial patch that fixes some stuff like the font and movie resolution
Some think its superior with that with its higher resolution and what not
For some reason Steins;Gate opens Steam whenever I try to run the game. There isn't any crack needed right?
[-] kaching335 | 1 points
Should be cracked already
Does it proceed to run the game anyway?
No, when I run the launcher it only opens Steam. I tried reinstalling, but it still doesn't work.
[-] kaching335 | 1 points
I'll redownload the torrent and see if there's a crack I accidently deleted or something
Alright thanks man, if there isn't anything wrong with the files then it must be something on my end.
[-] kaching335 | 1 points
Actually, have you tried using the files in the "CODEX" folder? I think that might be a crack.
Codex folder? There isn't a codex folder in the setup folder or the game folder unless I'm missing something.

Check again, I uploaded just now. I evidently forgot it
im having the same issue, is there a specific file i need to redownload in order to get the game to work? or should i redownload everything? edit: i accidentally forgot to replace the files in the game + launcher files in the games folder with the ones in the crack. So far working like a charm, gonna try installing zero next.

Copy from the crack folder to the main game directory. If you downloaded before I uploaded it, check again

Strange, I replaced the files in the x86 with the crack ones and I click the launcher file and it shows the start button but every time I click it the game doesn't start up. I get the stein gate launcher menu then it exits out after I hit start.

Which one should I play first? I loved the anime

Well, 0 is a sequel/alternate timeline while the original game is the anime with more exposition (anime is canon ending)
I haven't actually played them yet myself, but I would start with the original anyway. I think there's 5 other endings besides the anime one.

Note that both games are really long. You can easily spend 50+ hours on the first game (not sure about the second).

To add something to this: its really easy to screw up in the game. Like, extreeemely easy to get unwanted outcomes if you dont pay close attention at your decisions
