As a beginner I find Megadownloader very hard to use. It keeps throwing "Invalid Link" error when I paste the link in the "Add Link" box. The website doesn't offer a solution/a guide for the program. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)
EDIT : /u/thunder2132 and /u/douhaveanygreypoupon 's suggestions worked. I don't know why the developer of megadownloaded didn't bother to add help text to his software.

Enter the link as mega.nz/linkandkey don't use an IP address, don't have https in there. If it gives you errors still, try putting a ! between the link and the key if there isn't one there already.
EDIT
If it still gives you issues, make sure you've looked for directions in the post to see if there's formatting or characters that need to be switched. If it still doesn't work then the link may be down, they don't last long. If it's a newer post you can post and say it's down. If it's really down sometimes the uploader will try again. If it's not really down then prepare to face the consequences of not following directions (downvotes).

What I do is
Triple click the link to select the link in text version.
Right click the selected text and open in new tab.
Change https to http and Copy/paste the decryption key if necessary.
And do this to all the movie I like to download and i have a chrome extension to copy all urls of the tabs and when I click it, all the mega links get filtered and exported to add links box of the mega downloader automatically. Then I click add link button and that's it.
dafuq is this tutorial. just copy paste the whole link + the key in your browser line. copy this again. done. no change https to http or whatsoever

Yes this is easy if you are downloading one thing. But not if you are downloading more than 15. Because it brings up the add link box and it's always on top once you copy the mega link. What I do requires least amount of clicks or keystrokes

Invalid link = url formatted incorrectly
URL (both valid):
File/Folder ID (# prefix required):
Decryption Key (! prefix required):
Links without a # prefix on the file/folder will come up as invalid even if the key is formatted properly.
