If you like Star Wars, get this. No lie. This is the best version available as the title implies, it's essentially the bluray but with the original practical effects instead of the shitty cgi added in later. For all 3 despecialized editions, the total comes out to about 60gbs and if you have the bandwidth for it, highly recommend. These versions of the movie should never be deleted. Cherish them. Absolutely beautiful print.

No, it does not. Despecialized means a high quality fan reconstruction of the OG version from '77, because actual OG versions from '77 are very low quality.

I believe Harmy said the next big version will be in 1080p because they'll include the Silver Screen Editions of the movies as a foundation, as they are released. So far just the Silver Screen Edition of A New Hope is out, so it might be a little while for that update
