Well you probably arent asking for me but I can confirm lol. It scared me at first too. The hosts file gives you instructions on how to edit it when you open it so that means it's meant to be :3 I'm not actually sure what it is but I think everything in the etc folder controls what can go in and out of your router, so by putting those in hosts you are blocking those IPs and therefore blocking the connection from the Creative Cloud app to the adobe servers. (Dw though you can still go to the adobe site and everything, it just stops the app from communicating).
There is possibly other ways to do it but its pretty normal for manual cracks to tell you to block stuff in hosts.
