[Question] Downloading files through browser while signed in (Mega, Google-drive, etc) | Megalinks MegaDB [Question] Downloading files through browser while signed in (Mega, Google-drive, etc)

Is it safe to download files from sub-reddits like this while signed into your account? Are these downloads linked to your account in any way?

Any risks at all for doing so? I know with mega everything is encrypted so does it really matter? I know mega has a bandwidth limit, but for premium users you get 12tb of transfers per year. I'm guessing with mega it wouldn't matter because of encryption, but what about with google drive?

Yep, i've been doing it through MegaSync for a month now. I even got myself a pro account because of the space increase.

What you have to keep in mind though, is that if you import file to your library and it gets copyrighted you will no longer be able to download it. So i recommend downloading important movies/whatever that you think will get copyrighted first.

Ok cool! And awesome man, I as well have a pro account! The 12TB of bandwidth is nice, right? Also the cloud storage is definitely a bonus as well. Typically I just use jdownloader, however. Has mega sync been working well?

Yeah, i love the fact that i can sit on some movies/series and just know that i have them there available for download.

Personally, I prefer MegaSync to Jdownloader and MegaDownloader. I get better speeds and i can access my whole library from it and choose what to download from there. If you have fast internet you can also stream.

I also noticed people are using gdrive mirrors but not sure what the best method for downloading a bunch of files from google is (and no i dont want to wait 20 hours for them to zip a file)

Well yes, downlaods are linked to your account in the sense that mega might be logging your IP address when you log in and when you download files. Whether that is a real risk is hard to tell. If mega gets taken down and logs get exposed to authorities, they could theoretically go after you. But would they go after individual downloaders? Especially internationally? Seems unlikely.
