As far as I know there's no official HD release. If one existed, it would probably just be an officially sanctioned upscale.

There is a japanese blu-ray that is real 1080p (except for one episode that is an upscale since the film was lost). This could be that with the english audio muxed into it.

Dude, my old VHS tapes of EVA is gone. I wanted to get a proper Blu Ray set of these. Turns out EVA IS OUT OF PRINT. My fucking heart sank reading that news, I loved this series so much.

Especially after watching the Theatrical rebuild movies finally this year. I was waiting for the final movie to be release 3.0 +1.0 before doing so but seems it's been in production forever. So I bit the bullet and watched it. I did love them but they made me yearn so much to revisit the original series with the crazy ending that blew me away in the 90s.

I especially wanted to revisit the entire series again in high quality with the options for dub/sub. As I grew to know the series in the old school dub. You are my savior dude. I will forever be grateful to what you have provided us, again Thank You
