https://github.com/megous/megatools

Works from the terminal, doesn't have transfer quotas, free and open source.

why disconnect your whole family when you can use a download manager that supports Mega.nz among other file sharing websites MiPony

Is this the mac equivalent of megadownloader? I know you can run that with wine, but I've been on the lookout for a native application

I've installed and it works like a charm, thanks a lot! Don't suppose you have any info on how secure it is as a client?

Do you have a static or dynamic IP? What you can try is to unplug your router, wait 5 minutes, plug it back in. This should assign you a new IP address, which will lift the block.

The other option is to use a VPN or Proxy Service.

I'll try this now, it's just annoying to have to do every time I want to download a larger file. Would kind of defeat the object of this sub if I paid for pro.

The workaround I have found is to use a program like cyberghost. Dont know if that is the best of VPNs but its free and pretty fast for DLs, Other solution would be to use Megatools but you do need to have some knowledge of command lines on Terminal. If anyone knows of any possible problems in using cyberghost please feel free to share as that way we all learn something new.

I've heard using a vpn slows your Internet down? Or is that bollocks? I'm up for terminal commands if there's a relatively thorough tutorial somewhere?

I've used opera for months. I agree, it's great! Unfortunately when I enabled vpn and began downloading a file, an error message came up, saying something like "file is too big to handle". Thanks for the suggestion anyway!

I installed Mipony, as someone here suggested it, and it works like a charm. Would definitely recommend if you're looking to bypass the quota.
