Use homebrew to install megatools, then use the command line tool megadl to download (don't forget to put the URL in single quotes, e.g. megadl 'https://mega.nz/#F!vI0DySxa!dNuoOL5lI-859l02uOcisQ'). Works like a charm.

Only downside: When you have a folder link, you can only download all files in the folder, not an individual one.

Workaround: Quit megadl when it downloads a file you don't want by pressing ^C, then restart the download of the folder by repeating the command (cursor up in Terminal.app). megadl will skip existing files, even if they are incomplete.

^* Thanks Blue_Train!

This seems to be adware and makes multiple attempts to install malware. Really wouldn't recommend using this.

Did you not read the instructions & decline all the offers?

The fact that it includes them makes me suspect of what the software is doing behind the scenes and what analytics it's collecting.

Like I said you don't have to use it

You're just too good vcdupper, thank you. The first suggestion was way too advance for me but this was great and working already!

The package megatools (mentioned in the top comment) is available for Linux. Here's the github page.

It doesn't have pause feature which IDM and megadownloader has.

I keep getting download errors every time I try to download a file in the app. What would I have done incorrectly for this to occur? I haven't touched any of the preferences.

Can you run Megadownloader in Wine?

I wrote a little application that's essentially a GUI wrapper for megadl (part of megatools).

Just head to the releases page and download. Feel free to take a look at the source code if you don't trust the legitimacy.

For my (who uses Mac), I remote desktop to a computer in downstairs which I have Megadownloader installed, I download from that straight onto my NAS drive
