[META]Having a problem with download speed of megadownloader | Megalinks MegaDB [META]Having a problem with download speed of megadownloader

I thank you all for providing those sweet download links, but I have a problem which is really annyoing. Sometimes - without a reason - my Megadownloader limits the download speed to a couple hundred kilobytes. Which is very annyoing. I have 10 Megabyte download speed normally and there is no problem whatsoever regarding the connection/speed of my internet. So it must be the program Megadownloader. This thing occurs randomly, on some downloads it's fine after I restart them. Sometimes in the beginning, sometimes in the middle and sometimes in the last bytes of a download. It get's limited to about 150-300kb/s. Sometimes it returns back to normal speed after some time, sometimes it just stays this way. Does someone know why this happens and how I can fix it? Thank you!

Yeah. This happens to me too. Based off of my experience with the MEGA servers, I'm guessing it's either due to high traffic, or server maintenance. Personally though it doesn't last too long.

For your one file downloads you can use megadownloader to get a link and download through idm. For folders though that doesnt work.

It's how I do. Capture stream link through MegaDownlaoder and then do the actual downloading through IDM. If there are files in a folder, it's a bit longer process as you have to save the folder to your cloud, get the link for each individual file and run it through MD and then download through IDM.

For example, if you wish to download the original Star Wars trilogy but the files are in a folder, save folder to your cloud. Then, get link for New Hope, capture streaming link through MD, and then begin download through IDM. Rinse and repeat for other files.

This is why uploaders that put multiple files into rar or zip file are beyond awesome. Makes downloading much simpler.

I know you can do that but I dont think its worth the hassle. I dont download too many things usually so I would rather wait a little.

I find if I am downloading something from mega, then I use the internet for something else and the mega download gets squeezed out. Then when stop the "other" download the mega one never returns to full speed and I have to stop and start the download again.

That doesn't occur for me. My problem appears even if I let it download without using the internet in any other way.
