Wow crap! 20Gb is way too big for Mega's 5Gb cap these days. That'd take 4 days at best assuming the file is online that long.

Is there a chance you could re-process the file into say a 5Gb version which would still be excellent quality? We'd really appreciate your time on it :)

Just curious... Does this one have all the deleted and alternate scenes in it? For instance the longer opening sequence with other alien engineers standing on the waterfall edge with the one that makes the offering?

No. The opening is young Weyland's Ted Talk & it skips the Engineer scene.

There's deleted scenes in it though. This edit from what I can tell tries to make a better theatrical version, adding things that needed to be there & taking away things that didn't. And also finishing some effects & overall cleaning stuff up.

To me it succeeds at this & if there was a version you were gonna show someone who's never seen it, its this one. It flows much better.

I don't get all the desire to hide the opening scene with the engineer drinking the black liquid. It helps understand what is going on with the way they create new planetary inhabitants by changing the DNA of existing living organisms. Without this knowledge a person is only left with assuming the "Engineers" just dropped off some humanoids onto Earth and they evolved into what we are today, instead of the new organisms being a mix of different planetary species which is MUCH more interesting to consider. Just my 2 cents on the topic...

Yeah, for me the whole "Engineer" angle was really fucking fascinating. The movie fell apart for me when the Deacon reared its head - it just felt like they'd crow-barred that in to keep the fan base happy, it just wasn't needed. Not to mention it looked really out of place with the aesthetic of the rest of the movie too.

I'm not saying the movie doesn't have its faults, but yeah - that opening scene was fantastic. The whole idea of going to their planet for the sequel had me sold anyway. Shame it ain't gonna happen. Just goes to show I guess that money talks.

I really don't think an edit could absolve the movie of all of its flaws.

Awesome eye candy, terribly phoned-in writing, in my opinion. They developed this awesome back story and went total horror schlock/trope with most of the movie.

I have suitably low expectations for the upcoming sequel after that.

Something has been altered in the sequel plot. Originally Elizabeth Shaw and David's head/body combo were supposed to go to "Paradise" eg.. the Alien Engineer's home-world. The planet that David actually ends up on 10 years after Prometheus is NOT the engineer home planet but instead another horrible planet loaded with things that want to kill any visitors. I seriously doubt the engineers would call a place like that home. It's anything but a paradise. I picture it more like LV-426 in Alien.

I absolutely loved the original, does this mess with the lore by including anything that would add or take away un-lore friendly scenes. i would consider the opening sequence with other alien engineers standing on the waterfall edge partially guilty of this.

I wouldn't think so. I think the only Engineer scene it takes away is the opening one since it was a bit superfluous & adding young Weylands's speech put things in a better context to the rest of the film.
