1) Install

2) Open

3) search for desired mega link, copy the link

4) its automatically added in megadownloader

5) choose path (optional)

6) click on add links (rough translation since mine is not english)

MegaDownloader performance tip: if your machine has a lot of unused memory (RAM), use part of it to create a RAM disk using SoftPerfect RAM Disk. The current version is no longer free, but version 3.4.8 is still free. You can download it here.

After you set up the RAM disk, configure MegaDownloader to save files to the RAM disk. When the download is complete, copy the file to your regular hard drive. YMMV, but I've observed much faster download speeds on the same system using a RAM disk.

A bad hdd can manage at least 50MB/s, most people here will never get close to that speed so downloading to hdd/ssd/ram does not really matter.

While RAM is indeed faster then the HDD speeds, wouldn't the speeds of copying the complete file from the RAM Disk to the HDD once it's complete take the same time as just downloading it to the hard drive.

my hard drive is an SSD. it takes less than 10 seconds to copy a multi-gigabyte file from the RAM disk to the SSD.

I need some serious help with something. I have megadownloader and IDM. It works perfectly for zipped files on MEGA. When the files are not zipped, it downloads as a html file instead of an mp4, avi or whatever the file itself is or as a zip. I've tried everything, but nothing is working. Any advice here?
