Idk if this is happening to everyone else, but both the official Mega app and Megadownloader app for Android refuse to open any links lately. When I open up a link in Chrome, it asks for the decryption key over and over no matter what I input.
I got around it by enabling "Request desktop site" in Chrome. Then zoom out obviously because everything will be too big. After you put the key in, select the option to download through the browser and watch it go. This also means you don't really need the shitty app. I have no idea if this works on iOS, but I figure it would be worth trying.
Edit: Meant to put [META] not [MEGA]

I haven't had any problems like that before. I just tried 3 links any they all opened up with a problem.

Well, my phone updated last night so that may be it. It was working last week I think. I saw a review in the app store mentioning the endless key entry bug, so I can't be the only one. I think I also saw another comment on this sub saying he couldn't open the link in the mobile app.

Me and my friend are both having this problem right now. Thanks for the workaround!

Which one is the real megadownloader mobile app?

Ive found that removing the "!" at the beginning of the password works. And if the app fails to launch when clicking a link and issues the notice about requiring the MEGA application, clicking the Android symbol in the URL bar launches it properly. This is for firefox browser though.
