The Mega team indicated that some companies, such as film studios, will have direct access to remove files if they discover the encryption keys online and determine that the content infringes their copyright. Dotcom added that if such companies want to use that tool they would have to agree, prior to receiving access, not to sue Mega or hold the site accountable for the actions of its users.

Not quite related but how can you see from the uploader's perspective if your content has been taken down ? Every time I've found my links disabled the stuff I uploaded was still there. I don't check every single one of my links every day so it's kind of unhelpful.
They sent me an email. Also, when I look at my cloud drive it has a red mark next to the folder, and if you click on info a message says 'one or more items have been the subject of a takedown notice'

What was the consensus when people asked for this sub to go private? If they're tightening belts perhaps this should too.
It's honestly for the best. Every Walking Dead Season 7 episode 1 link I checked has been removed or deleted. Going private or using some kind of code seem like the only things that can be done to fight against this.

If this sub goes private, how would one keep access to here? For example, I've never really posted here or uploaded stuff myself.

But there could be people who upload stuff once in a while just so people dont get suspicious of them even though they are one of the people screwing everything up for us

I have stuff saved that now has been deleted.
Previously I felt it was redundant to upload & post it here.

A while ago I got someone to upload via request a very niche Australian documentary from the SBS channel:

https://www.reddit.com/r/megalinks/comments/4w8iyz/the_new_request_thread/d650zmg/
It seems even niche stuff from a state funded Australian station eventually gets deleted. Or, who knows maybe the original uploader deleted it to clear space from the Mega.co.nz account or the account and its files got deleted for other violations. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't people looking at this subreddit and trying to flag everything, so that even if I uploaded a linux distribution here for some stupid reason it would eventually get taken down.
