Hi all, Just an idea for the sub if you're requesting a big upload (e.g. u/Shorpipo with The West Wing in X265), make a donation to a charity of the uploader's choice. Posts can be like: [REQUEST] Six Feet Under HEVC (Donate $20) What are your thoughts?

That is a pretty nice idea for a good course, but I think people come here because they get the stuff they want for free. I do not want to downtalk your idea, if people would actually do that it would be awesome, I just wanted to give my opinion on what would happen and what not.

Yeah I mean not as a necessity, but take the example of the west wing, I appreciated it didn't exist anywhere on the web, so I said I'd donate to a charity of shorpipos choice Can even be, uploaded posts and says any donation to charity x is appreciated

It's a really nice idea but a lot of people come to places like this because they can't afford to see their favourite show/movie etc. So I'm not sure this would work.

i'm cuban....I can't use any kind of credit card on the internet because of the US embargo against cuba...so, even if I wanted to I just can't.

If you say 'please donate to doctors without borders' I mean it's just an honour system, you can post a screenshot if you want to prove it, I'm just suggesting it as an optional addition.

I agree, I don't think any system which involves paying a person would work

I would donate like $20 to the uploader's charity of choice with that guy who uploaded the entirety of Smallville in 720p Web-DL on here (190gb total) but he rarely uses reddit.

Do it for all requests as long as it's not mandatory.Would be a decent way to offer a greater incentive for fulfilling requests

I don't think charities would really want to be accepting money from what is essentially stolen content.
