If people started reporting posts with dead links, for moderators to delete, or maybe even an automated script (there's something promising here), it would make this sub a useful searchable resource, even if links keep getting taken down almost as fast as they go up.
Thoughts? Would reporting dead links be a useful thing for people to do? Would new moderators be able to help?

Can't automod check if a link is dead and delete it?

First off, not a mod nor am I familiar with modding (on reddit).
If you find a dead link always leave a comment saying "dead" for everyone to see.
If there were a way for the mods to search for "dead" (or another code word) that would make it a bit easier, but I don't know if that exists, and reddit's search is notoriously terrible.

While this is an excellent idea, "dead" may not be the best word to use. Say good bye to all the walking dead episodes...
