I suppose it is really up to the mods and the uploaders but I'm curious about what the users think

Didn't know there's megaupload 2.0 coming. o.O
doesn't it say "A place to share content hosted on MEGA." ?
But I'm curious about it's future, with the arrival of megaupload 2.0, and the apparent threat over mega and it's owners, i don't think it's gonna survive more than a year at best.

That could easily be changed to MegaUpload. I agree with you about the uncertain future of Mega.
It'd be mixed with mega links and it would just be too messy, making a new sub would be more efficient. I still think that if there was an option between the two the majority would go for mega instead of megaupload, personally i don't like their new bitcache system for each download or usage of third party apps to store files. I like my stuff simple and encrypted.

Agree with you on your last point! Just keep it simple and encrypted. What they have now is working fine for me at least. Maybe find an alternate way to beef up the encryption.
Just add flairs. One for MEGA, and another for MegaUpload2. That way you can easily so by glance which is which, and at the same time you can search for either.

/r/megauploadlinks is taken. I agree that it should just be one site to make it easier

I don't think making a new sub is a good idea. Unless we completely move and redirect somewhere else but I don't see the point in this as we already have a community here.

If it offers better service than the current mega, sure. No one can say with out it actually being in production and in use.
The recent drama with mega severely restricting downloads though bodes well for something from Kim to swoop in and "make downloading great again"™
