Only Star Trek media I've seen are the recent reboot films. Does anyone know a good place to start? Are the movies tied in with the TV shows?

Prior to the reboots, all movies are tied in with the original series or TNG.

If you don't mind a lot of cheese, I'd recommend starting with the original series. Otherwise, start with TNG, but be aware that the probably the majority of the fanbase agrees that the first few seasons of TNG were pretty rocky.

Hi imranr11,

I've just downloaded Star Trek I-IV and there seems to be audio issues when playing with VLC. The sound is broken and crackly, intermittently stopping. However, the commentary audio is working fine. Could you look into fixing this?

Try playing it with MPC-HC, it fixes the problem.
