The League of Gentlemen is an English black comedy set in Royston Vasey, a fictional town in Northern England. It follows the lives of dozens of bizarre townspeople, and is presented as an interweaving narrative chronicling the antics of such diverse characters as a transsexual taxi driver, a family obsessed with hygiene and toads, a fiery reverend, a carnival owner who kidnaps women into marriage, and a xenophobic couple who run a local shop for local people. All the characters are played by the show's four writers.

It's weird. But funny. In a weird sort of way.
