do copyright owners come here to comb through the index and issue takedowns? is it a problem with mega itself? are there longer lasting alternatives?

It may be because older links weren't separating the key from the link, making it easier for bots to spot them. I seriously doubt someone is spending man hours combing this subreddit though. We literally just reupload content from other sites, copyright owners are more worried about the source.

Edit: Part of it may be the OPs deleted them from their Mega account, rather than making a throwaway.

How long does an account have to be inactive for before it is disabled? Do they send you a warning by email?
