It starts off a little slow for like, the first season, but it has underlying themes that develop as it moves on wards and I think most people would end up getting pretty emotionally involved in it after four seasons. If you're going to watch it, I would do so from the start regardless of how slow it goes because half of the appeal is watching the characters develop. Be aware it's a little kiddie/simple for a lot of it since it's...you know, aimed at a family audience but it doesn't take away from it if you can deal with the filler.
