I imagine most Americans will find this show very quaint and quite alien (most young Brits will as well) but it's based on the work of one of the best English writers in recent memory. If you are in any way an anglophile I think you'll love it. It's a idealised jaunt into an England that never really existed but is still somehow quintessential.
Here's Stephen Fry talking about PG Wodehouse the original author. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DogZv_mWBD4
fun fact: Fry was at the height of his cocaine misadventure during his years filming this, he was most likely somewhat high in most scenes.

Starring Hugh Laurie (that guy from House) as Bertie Wooster, a young gentleman with a distinctive blend of airy nonchalance and refined gormlessness, and Stephen Fry (that guy from Twitter) as Jeeves, his improbably intelligent and bold valet. Wooster is a bachelor, a minor aristocrat and member of the idle rich. He and his friends, who are mainly members of The Drones Club, are extricated from all manner of societal misadventures by the indispensable valet Jeeves. The stories are set in the United Kingdom and the United States in 1936.
It's pretty old and it's also a period piece, but it's funny and very well done so check out the first episode if you want a good idea about what the series is about.
