[netiquette] | Megalinks MegaDB [netiquette]

I have always renamed my files in the following format: laststarfighter. lastunicorn. lawrenceofarabia. starwars1. starwars2. starwars3. etc...

I have ripped half of my movie collection direct from DVD and the other half I have collected. I do not know which movies were from which release crew (many from YIFY though). I can not easily identify all of the movies which are 720p (most of them) and which are larger (1080p) or smaller (480p). I can not easily identify which video and audio codecs are used in each movie. I am not saying that I do not know, just that at a glance all of this information is not readily apparent.

Suffice it to say that everything I have kept is good enough for me. I have been reluctant to up anything because I can not properly accredit the release. It seems like a breach of etiquette to share someones release without giving them the credit. Right?

So the question for me is, should I not care and up them with the data I have or not at all?

Won't be able to directly your answer your question as I'm not a mod, but just wanted to point you towards a software I've been using for the very reason you listed. It was not easy for me to be able to tell information such as codecs etc. However, now I have been using a software called MediaInfo. Works brilliantly once customized to your liking to getting you the info you want. Have been using it for several months now and can vouch for it getting all the relevant info you would need when it comes to codec information and stats on your files. Paired with Filebot to auto rename files, its been very helpful.

Link to MediaInfo

Forgot to mention, you can also integrate it into Windows, so simply hovering over a file will get you added info than you normally would see.

as we're talking about piracy here i don't see much of a problem as long as you don't take the credit. If you considered uploading the last unicorn, that would make me a happy pirate :)
