The spaceship was voiced by Pee-Wee Herman. Sarah Jessica Parker plays the child psychologist (I think, it's been a while).

Really good Disney sci-fi from the 80's. The visual effects are damned impressive, including some early CGI.

There is a remake currently in talks, so I can look forward to another film of my childhood being needlessly ruined.

Yeah, one of the better 80s sci-fi movies. And it holds up surprisingly well.
