[NEWS] Don't Waste BW On Star.Trek.Beyond.2016.CAM-UnKnOwN | Megalinks MegaDB [NEWS] Don't Waste BW On Star.Trek.Beyond.2016.CAM-UnKnOwN

The pic is okay enough for a CAM but it's missing over 8 minutes of crucial footage & is OOS all over the place.

I don't get why people waste bandwith on cams at all. Their popularity goes to show people don't want to really see or enjoy movies, they instead want to show their peers they keep up with the latest Hollywood blockbusters in a timely manner.

...or maybe people want to properly experience the stories without having to take the time to go to a theater because there isn't one particularly close to where they live?

I just despise theaters, honestly, and I'd rather see the film in shitty shakycam and tinny audio than have it spoiled for me in the arbitrary and random amount of time between theatrical release and home media.

What town do you live at?

Not too interested in posting that on Reddit, but there isn't a theater within 45 minutes transit of where I live.

I'm very sorry :(

Eh. On the positive side, it makes every theater-trip feel like a bit of an event!

If they cared about the stories and not keeping up with what movies their peers are seeing most recently, why don't they wait till Bluray rips are out like I do? Unless a good r5 without subtitles or telecine is out, I won't watch a pirated movie still in theaters. It is hard to enjoy a movie with washed out colors, which is usually too dark, where a decent portion of the screen is not recorded and with bad audio quality. I am not a quality snob overall though, infact I prefer 700 mb x264 bluray rips(for movies 2 hours or less), but I draw the line at camrips.

I notice the same with what theaters people choose. In the northern New Jersey suburban town where I live within a 12 mile radius are 4 movie theaters. The most overpriced and closest theater is always packed or relatively packed, while the other three theaters have so little customers I wonder how they stay open. So I avoid the closest, most overpriced theater so I can get my pick of seat, and don't have to deal with loud, young customers, etc. But again most people want to be seen it seems and thus actually prefer the most crowded one.

Wow, an edgy under 25 shit all butthurt that someone points out why dweebs like him bother with cams despite having a quality so shit tier you cannot appreciate most scenes.

Relax, it was just a joke. Honestly, I sometimes watch cams to see whether I want to go see a movie in theaters bc the big screen and cost is worth it for certain movies. A cam is how I avoided BvS and the reason I went to see Days of Future Past (just to see the Quicksilver scene).

I also never get out and see people so I have no idea why you'd think that's the only reason someone would watch a shitty cam (which I admit are shitty). Generally speaking, your view on this matter seems self-righteous and presumptuous but I don't hold that against you. Finally, I'm over 25 so I have no idea what that's about.

Edgy? I'm so milquetoast.

Edit: A cam is also why I went to see Civil War bc the guys from John Wick and choreograph some fucking action scenes.

Edit2: And you really are my FUCKING hero dude. I respect you so much, it DOES actually make my butt hurt.

So you allegedly watch cams to see if it is worth it to see the same movie again in the theater? And since obviously with the crappy quality involved you cannot understand what the fuck is going in scenes with alot of characters, dark scenes, those with many different actors speaking, or with lots of action like scenes like with Quicksilver in the Marvel world, so you probably feel like you need to pay to see in the theater what you thought you liked since you only sort of understood what was happening. Wow, that is just the most stupid thing ever.

That is just too much time wasted. I cannot be as cool as you and watch cams to see if I want to go the theater. It is better to wait for Bluray rips of almost everything and the rare times I cannot wait, actually go to the theater.

Your logic is questionable so it seems like you're trolling but I'll give this another shot.

I judge the value of seeing a movie in theaters based on how much of a spectacle it is. You don't need a big screen or great sound for a good narrative, an interesting plot, quality acting or anything like that. But well shot action sequences and insanely imaginative computer-generated sequences do require a theater to fully appreciate. When a movie has enough of the spectacular elements and a compelling or well done story, it isn't a chore to see it again in theaters so you can fully appreciate the more spectacular elements. Further, you can tell what would be an awesome spectacular sequence based on a shitty cam. And, most times, you can only get the shitty cam while the movie is still in theaters so I use it as a way to figure out whether it's worth going to a theater in the first place. If I wait for a quality version, it's not usually in theaters anymore.

I'm not sure there's any cam that gets out that shitty enough that you really have no idea what's going on. If they exist, I haven't seen them.

I'm not disagreeing that seeing a bluray is better than a cam, but it can't fully make up for the theater experience. I'm not sure how wasting a few hours watching a shitty quality version of a movie to determine if I want to see it in theaters makes me cool. It makes me cheap and means I'm overly invested in taking the time to judge how much money I want to spend on entertainment or making sure I spend it on something that is worth the financial investment.

Or they just want to see the movie without paying or waiting...

permalink

And they don't want to wait because they want to demonstrate to others they keep up with the current crop of movies in theaters. Since I don't care about that I just see the movies I want to see on a few month delay in a quality that doesn't totally suck.
