[QUESTION] I keep running out of storage and have to repeatedly delete the cache for more room, is there a better solution for this? | Megalinks MegaDB [QUESTION] I keep running out of storage and have to repeatedly delete the cache for more room, is there a better solution for this?

I keep getting "Out of HTML5 Offline Storage space Your available browser storage for MEGA cannot handle this download size, please free up some disk space." and just want to know if there is a better way of handling this than what I am doing.

None that I've found so far. It's a double edged sword.

On the one hand, you can straight download, but you have to clear file storage every 10gb, and cant download anything more than 10gb at a time.

On the other hand, you can use MegaSync to get it directly into your personal account, but MEGA will automatically throttle you after a certain amount of time spent downloading.

I believe they are restricting your commenting based on your negative comment karma.

Use JDownloader, it works with the the majority of file hosts (YouTube, too).

You just copy the link address you wish to download, then activate it in JDownloader.

Yes! I had this problem, too. I downloaded the Mega extension for Chrome and it went away.

I just use MegaSync now, I haven't experienced the throttling I guess, but usually I set up a download and let it run while I'm away.

It's a Google Chrome problem, not a Mega problem. Chrome saves downloads in its cache folder ("C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\File System"). When you specify a download folder, it makes a copy of the file and saves a copy at the other location instead of moving the original. So if you save the downloaded file on the same partition or drive, you will take up twice the space unless you frequently delete the files in the cache folder. In other words, fuck you Google. If you download 10 GBs of movies on your drive/partition, it will take up 20 GBs of space unless you delete your cache. Unless you install CCleaner and delete the files in the folder at startup, the files will just sit there when you reboot.
