Just to clarify, this is purely a community-driven, unanimous decision?
This isn't something we at /r/megalinks are deciding to do, this is scene driven, it's out of our hands, but as long as their are groups still releasing mp4, i'll try to post them here as well as mkv

Ok. I was referring more to the pirating scene as a whole, but this is good news. Thanks!

ffmpeg -i tvshow.mkv -vcodec copy -acodec mp3 tvshow.mp4
I made this switch about 10-11 years ago. x265 releases though should be kept in .mp4, just for compatibility reasons.

Is there a decent program out there to handle batch converting .MKV to .MP4? Preferably for OSX? Most of the ones I have can't handle the latest specs for .MKV.

Don't they do this already for most HD TV releases?
I mostly saw MP4 replace AVI for SD TV stuff.
Even years ago when I got my first HD show in 720p they were MKV.
