It is not. I just watched it.
It was downloading at 4.5 MB/s at first, but now it has dropped down to 200 kB/s. :(
[-] Valyrious_ | 4 points
Traffic.
[-] ucantsimee | -4 points
Shouldn't that make it better? I thought that was how torrenting worked.
[-] JamesPoulton | 3 points
Torrenting works on people who have already downloaded the file also uploading it to everyone else (seeding). So unless people already have the file downloaded, traffic doesn't make torrents faster.
But as far as I know mega doesn't use a torrent system and when you download you're downloading direct from their servers?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
[-] ShakeInBake | 3 points
You're completely right. When directly downloading like with this link, the more people connected the slower it goes, because it's all coming from just one source. This is not torrenting, this is not a torrent.
[-] top_KeK_420 | 1 points
Thazs why im using it here in germany. Torrenting is illegal here :/
[-] stormarsenal | 1 points
And this is not?
[-] top_KeK_420 | 1 points
I dont think its illegal, at least I hope. I havent gotten any lawyer up my ass for only downloading. the sharing (through seeding/uploading with torrents) is the illegal stuff
[-] stormarsenal | 2 points
Sharing and downloading copyright material, via torrents or otherwise, is illegal. On the other hand, using torrents for distributing free content, such as linux bootable images which are only available via torrents, is not illegal.
[-] top_KeK_420 | 1 points
In germany ? Then why have I never gotten anything for downloading but when I used torrent once i had several attorneys up my ass ?
[-] stormarsenal | 2 points
I guess because torrents are on MPAAs watchlist and its easy to monitor them.
[-] Jaques_Naurice | 1 points
Because mega is not a peer to peer-network and you don't connect to a node which is run by a lawfirm for the sole purpose of Abmahnungen.
[-] Valyrious_ | 3 points
Mega isn't a torrent. How on earth anybody could think that is simply bizarre.
[-] top_KeK_420 | 2 points
There are many people on the earth dude ..

[-] l0c0m0tiv3 | 1 points
Pretty please. English subs would be great if anybody has the link...
Any news on whether this release is good? AVS has been fucking up their past releases.
[-] indigo6alpha | 3 points
The bitrate is around 2400 Kbps and so far it's looking good, coz I'm watching it.

Weiner, weiner weiner... nice upload once again! Thanks indigo6alpha!
[-] BannaHamHock | 1 points
my shit always downloads so insanely slow. It must be my ISP because I see no other reason I should be throttled to <100kbps when I have 50mb download. Anyone else experience insanely slow dl speeds no matter which link or which file? Any troubleshooting tips?
[-] indigo6alpha | 1 points
Are you downloading through browser/browser extension?
[-] BannaHamHock | 1 points
I've tried both as well as mega sync and they all are equally slow, always
[-] Jaques_Naurice | 1 points
Weird. Using chrome my dl-speed often gies up and down, but MEGAsync reliably goes as fast as my connection allows.
[-] BannaHamHock | 2 points
Yeah, I used to get blazing speeds pretty consistently across the board.. but now any Mega download that I try is snail's pace comparatively. I can't get above 150 kbps
[-] Jaques_Naurice | 1 points
Is mega the only service with inconsistent and low speeds for you? Perhaps your ISP is throttling traffic to mega's infrastructure...
[-] BannaHamHock | 1 points
Yeah that was my final conclusion as well. Just thought maybe someone had experienced something similar and found an alternate conclusion. This is only on mega downloads, I'm blazing everywhere else
[-] BannaHamHock | 1 points
Why the fuck would someone downvote me for asking about my downloading problem. People are fucking assholes on this website
edit: lol fuck you whoever you are, stalking my posts. Do you work for mega? Your shit is slow to download on my computer can you help me out bud? Why don't you reply instead of being a little bitch
[-] EyeScream23 | 1 points
you da real mvp dude :) can I please request for subs thanks!
[-] stormarsenal | 1 points
[-] indigo6alpha | 1 points
Probably some certificate error with mega.co.nz domain. Do you mind installing the MEGA chrome extension and trying again?
[-] stormarsenal | 1 points
Downloading through mega-debrit.com worked.
[-] Jaques_Naurice | 1 points
BAM! indigo always coming through with the good stuff

Higher quality takes much longer to encode/compress.
The computer has to take the TV signal and transform it into a file that other computers can read/play, and it takes a lot of resources for a computer to do that.
Lower quality output like 720p compared to 1080p means a quicker process because the computer doesn't have to work as hard to preserve as much data.
[-] [deleted] | -14 points
[deleted]
a powerful PC rig will encode 720p.... you need more to encode 1080p as fast as you're asking...
[-] ShakeInBake | 7 points
Well, you do seem to be an expert on the matter.
[-] liquorbaron | 5 points
You could always do it yourself.
