I'd definitely like to have some of those files. I'm planning to buy a BenQ W1070 (3d projector) in the near future.

Do you know which one you're going to get?

I think i'm going to get a very short throw one like the optoma gt1080 and put it on a coffee table because the room it is going in has vaulted ceilings and I don't want to figure out how to mount it with some huge arm coming down and to get the mount at an angle.

I just bought the BenQ MH680. Have you bought any glasses from anywhere yet?

BenQ W1070

Have you looked at this one... Optoma HD26 1080p 3D DLP Home Theater Projector Its $400 less than the BenQ you are considering and over 1,000 Lumens brighter. I wouldn't touch anything under 3,000 Lumens these days. It makes me mad some of the newer BenQ's are only 2,000 lumens. Common BenQ! Get with the program. Hehehe

Can someone please briefly ELI5 why a normal HDTV can't display 3D?

For true 3D you need a device that is ready for it. Otherwise you will see the same image side-by-side or over-under on the same screen. Sure you can use KMP player to convert to the Red/Blue 3D (That sucks) or get a nice cheap DLP 3D Projector and enjoy the films correctly. You can go on the cheap and get a $500 DLP 3D projector, $120 for a portable 90" screen and glasses for $20 a piece on Amazon. So you can have 90" 3D HD TV for around $650! Try getting a 3D ready 90" LCD for anything even close to that price.

If you don't already have it elsewhere, you should get the Judge Dred 3D movie.
