Netflix is so cheap, if you watch like two movies it literally paid for itself. I don't understand..

It's not available in every country. Also, plenty of people don't have (good enough) internet where/when they want to watch shows so having a downloaded file can be a much easier way to watch. Hell, I have Netflix and I occasionally download some episodes either when internet is being maddeningly inconsistent or when I'm going to be traveling.

Although I'm definitely giving people the benefit of the doubt there because I do know there are some people who are just to cheap about it.
