Basically FLAC is the second best quality wise, compared to WAV. Though, FLAC is a lot smaller I personally speaking usually can't tell the difference between FLAC and WAV. MP3 quality is a lower, though most of the time you can't tell the difference if you're using like Apple Earbuds.

FLAC is literally the same as WAV, it's just compressed-- losslessly so. It just takes some processing power to play. You could convert a WAV to FLAC and the back to WAV and get the exact same file; that's the point of lossless compression. One step above redbook FLAC would be 24-bit FLAC sourced from a record.
