its not that big of a deal (and i understand the irony of what im posting right now.) but if you go on mega-search.me there is a person who is taking the files from this community and putting them on that site with his own name attached. i found this out by going on the site today and seeing [this] (http://mega-search.me/link-zjSRoeLv-o-brother-where-art-thou-2000-720p-brrip-english-mp4) was posted a couple hours after i posted it here. then i looked up this persons username and if you look at their uploads [here] (http://mega-search.me/links?k=ThePirate&x=0&t=1&o=1&s=1&f=0) you can see many of the same links that were posted on this subreddit. at first i thought this was just a coincidence, but then i noticed some of the weirder uploads (ex. final fantasy 7 advent children) im just wondering who is posting "our" content. the person is even posting the fantastic /u/AdjustableTableLamp game of thrones episodes.

We could upload our files with secret keys that we change every month. That way only people from this subreddit would know about it.
It would make a ton of sense to just upload them as encrypted rar files. Also keeps certain agencies at bay...

I personally don't care about it that much.

As annoying as it is I can't really complain. They are sharing links to something we don't own. Can you message the person?

Im going to comment on some of the persons posts on the website. But I figured that this person has to be a regular here. They seem to know when certain people upload things.

Whatd they say?

Just fuck him, whatever, I mean we are basically illegal, and he's just taking some credit on other sites, of course its a dick move, but what can you do?

I completely understand that what we do is wrong. My problem is that we are the ones taking the risks. This person is just slappjng their name onto "our" products of work.

What can we do about it? This really sucks because non redditors are bringing more attention to our links, meaning they'll be more likely to be removed...

Yeah I dont know what exactly we could do. The beauty of this subreddit is that it's a small community. If it was any bigger things would get taken down more quickly and this sub would probably be banned.
