I'm in Germany and there's that rule which if I download movies or musics I'll probably get a letter from a lawyer. So far as I know the risks are just by using torrent, but I'm not completely sure. My question is if I download games and movies from mirrors like Mega I'll get that letter and be demanded to pay hundreds euros. Is anyone sure if downloading by mirrors is completely safe?

Most of the time they frankly track torrent sites. If you are iffy, try downloading PeerBlock. It blocks any incoming probe, basically saying that you are downloading something but they can't figure out what and can't do anything, at least in my experience.
Mega should be fine in Germany.

How would you be sure about that?
When files are uploaded to Mega, they are encrypted, so even Mega doesn't know what the files actually are. They aren't decrypted until they're downloaded onto your computer. Because of this, it's much more difficult to prove what was actually downloaded (as far as your ISP is concerned, you downloaded a meaningless jumble of letters and numbers). Moreover, direct downloads (like ones from mega) aren't monitored in the same way that torrent traffic is. Part of the problem with torrents that you're technically distributing whatever you're downloading, and in the eyes of copyright holders, that's a more prosecutable offense.
So all in all, Mega is a pretty safe solution. You can always use a VPN if you're really concerned about it.

Mega is legal, the files are encrypted, no one watches their servers or yours... The only real problem with torrents is if you download Them from seeders who want to bust your ass(Lawyers from record labels)...If you download Torrents from certified users and with many seeders you won't even get busted for it. I'm still using a paid VPN service...safety first.
NVM just stop using reddit man...you are a terrible user

That is highly unlikely. It's theoretically possible, but that doesn't mean you should be overly afraid of it. Living your life without piracy decreases your friend's utility massively compared to what a fine would. The police are going for the big guys, not the regular person randomly downloading a few files every once in a while.
