i think there should be a monthly sticky post that is just a general request and discussion thread. i feel like it would be better than having a bunch of request on the page. just a thought.

This is a good idea, we have a requests sub for a reason. I would like to see us filling this one with friendly shares instead.

Yeah, it seems silly to post a request in one sub and wait for a response in another, and no one really subscribes to request subs because they generally just want to download things.

What about tags/filters for requests and shares, à la /r/askscience?

Well most people do tag request posts in this sub with [request] and they also tag their media with [movie, music, et cetera]. I'm curious as to what you mean though.

i feel like it would just be easier to have one request thread and thats it. the sub-reddit would be a little cleaner and then uploader like me could see if i can get something that someone wants easier. also there are some things that i want that others might have (i cant find a download of the mega man soundtracks for the life of me). it would make this place more of a community of people helping each other get content (movies,music,books) they might not otherwise be able to get.

Maybe it should also be suggested that downvotes be dictated by the quality of the content, rather than "I don't like that movie/album, downvote"?
