THIS IS PPC and PPC only. All intel has been stripped from it. Just trying to help old school mac users out. More to come. mAc_XX_Only

This is helpful for people like me who have G5s that have DVD drives that don't support dual layer DVDs (the retail Leopard image is too big for single layer). I have another workaround for people who already have Tiger and Leopard images and don't want to download again:

1) Tiger is smaller, use a Tiger DVD to boot

2) have Leopard image on a USB drive (just the .dmg, don't unpack)

3) in Tiger installer use disk utility to create a small restore/install partition on your hard drive, and the rest for the main partition

4) restore the image from usb drive onto that small restore partition.

5) reboot from that partition

6) install Leopard and you now have a restore partition on your hard drive that you can reinstall from at anytime.

I think all I ever needed to do was use disk utility and just restore my computer's drive from that dmg. You of course need that dmg on another drive (other than the one you are updating).

Hope that helps.
