Amazing movie. One of my favorites. Maybe not quite true "hard" sci-fi, but it's pretty close.

If you were flicking through basic cable and hit the Info button it would say something like:

Sunshine (2007) R, Adult themes. **** Solar imagery radiates throughout this science fiction film in which Cillian Murphy wears a space suit.

Actually it's visually stunning. It has gorgeous, indulgent CGI and you could watch with the sound off and still feel sated.

John Murphy absolutely DESTROYED it with the soundtrack in this movie. So amazing
