I did some spectral analysis on the albums I downloaded and confirmed they were all transcoded to 320kbps from a low quality source. --- If you are going to post stuff, don't post shit. It really affects sound quality.
Albums downloaded:
Paul Oakenfold - Tranceport
Tiesto - In Search of Sunrise vol 5
and Above and Beyond - Tri-State
just for you: https://mega.co.nz/#!09hlFS5S!J8TdIm48uP4uLvTCyEaaHDoJMu4GWwA1DoepZeIQYXI
https://mega.co.nz/#!U0Q3SaJK!QdP_hiauKQJZQ1l5qz44xVaMj65IvBSnLcWqO_OmmCI
and you're dead wrong: these were straight CD rips, so don't whine about a 'low quality source'. if you consider yourself such an audiophile that you can those minute differences, then just go buy the albums legitimately
and don't bitch about free shit, either

First of all don't put words in my mouth. I never said I was an 'audiophile'.
Second, here is proof your first uploads were shit.
Here is what your songs all look like under a spectral filter.
Here is what the songs SHOULD look like
Edit: where is not a replacement for were

It looks like the audio was normalized or something? Would that be done during the rip/encode from CD to MP3? Or is it compression done in mastering?
I'm no audiophile, just curious.

What most likely happened was they converted it at a constant bit rate of 320kbps. When you do it that way you lose spectral audio information. This mainly occurs because, yes like you stated, the songs are being compressed. In the end, I think it was probably an audio source originally at 160kbps re_encoded to 320kbps
Edit: also, yes! I totally overlooked it before but normalization process to get audio levels the same throughout the song may e have affected this too.
