I think it would be incredible if we could form a collection if modern science/math (especially engineering ;]) books for students

Most of my textbooks come with codes now. The codes are used to access the online homework turn in. It's similar to what EA did to their games and online passes.

That's really fucked up, all my text books are in the university library and the professors set their own assignments. Then again I'd imagine computer science professors to be more into digital liberties then on average.

It's more of Math and sciences that have the homework online. MasteringBiology is the bio website and MyMathLab is the math version. It's like $50-$80 for just a code, but it is cheaper to rent and get a code than buying a new book.

I like this idea quite a bit. It might be useful to setup some sort of [Request] system for persons searching for specific editions or titles. Maybe even a dedicated mod thread to what is currently available to prevent reposted requests.
