It's quite simple really. Here's my five step program for a 5 on the chemistry AP:

If only it was that simple for me. My teacher doesn't even have us touch the textbook, the notes she makes us take are absolutely worthless, and the homework isn't representative of what we do on the test. Most of the kids in my class don't understand, and aren't doing so well in the course. The kids who do better on the tests are the kids who can stay after school, where she gives out packets with all the test questions. For most of us, using these prep books, alongside study groups and other practice, will be the main way we will learn what we need to know for the AP Exam.

Well, if nothing else, having a horrible teacher who is clearly not planning the course ahead and isn't really interested in teaching and having to just muddle through and learn it yourselves IS, in fact, a much better approximation of a college-level course and the stuff you learn about how to learn will be more (probably) more valuable than all the chem. knowledge you'd have gotten if your teacher just laid out everything right in front of you. Press on and good luck, you sound like you got this dude!

Completely agree with this. Had an indifferent and incapable AP Chem teacher (among a few others) and being forced to self learn and look up material was an invaluable skill in college; where a good portion of professors were the same as that teacher.
